Miranda and Washington made their way through the crowded garden, making light  conversation with anyone they knew even remotely. Over time, they had gotten used to galas like these, as they grew more prominent in the herbology community. Usually, they had gone quite smoothly, with little to no slip-ups. Usually.

"I'm Washington Puckett, and this is the lovely Miranda Puckett," Washington said to another scientist the pair had come across, not registering his mistake until moments later. Miranda looked up at him with a raised eyebrow, rightfully confused, while he winced quite noticeably. Earlier that week, he went up to Massachusetts to visit her family, then purchased a ring shortly after, which he kept in his coat- just in case. The tho…

i got a lil too bored and im a creature of sin as u know

"She's a good girl," Tally heard Jack say to one of his quidditch teammates after a practice, not realizing the 'good girl' in question was just around the corner. Although he didn't mean any harm, Tally knew that bit, his words prompted her to reevaluate some aspects of her personality over the next few days. Did he really think she was so innocent, that she wasn't capable of living a little? Was she even so sure she wasn't just a goody-two-shoes? She'd have to prove him- and herself- wrong.

"I'm home!" Jack announced quite loudly upon entering the pair's flat, knitting his brows when he didn't get a response. She must be asleep, he decided after a moment of contemplation, then mad…

"Your win yesterday was pure luck, you've got no talent." The Ravenclaw seeker's words, although they stung a bit, weren't quite enough to really bother Tally, who knew quite well that Hufflepuff had won their last quidditch match fair and square. Jack, on the other hand, wasn't nearly as calm. Tally gently placed a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to signal to him that she could handle the situation- for now, at least. "So I'm supposed to believe that your poor playing and overall sore loser-ness is my fault?" She asked her competitor in a deadpan tone, rolling her eyes so hard she could practically see her skull. Her response clearly agitated the Ravenclaw, who was huffing and puffing so hard it looked like he was having trouble breath…

Jack had just discovered the fourth D of apparition- desparation. As in, he was desparately trying to remember how to apparate correctly- a task he hadn't successfully completed since he was seventeen. With his wand in his hand he focused intensely on the wooden structure situated in the woods behind Tally's parents' house, specifically built for her to safely transform every full moon. Unfortunately, he didn't exactly specify in his mind where in the building he wanted to apparate to, and promptly ended up inside, face-to-face with a werewolf.

Tally let out an agonized bark at the sight of him, as if pleading for him to go away, to not see her like this. She'd taken her wolfsbane potion beforehand, per usual, but that also meant every tho…

With her fingers wrapped firmly around the wooden bat, she marched through the junkyard. Something in the way she carried herself was almost soldier-like, but with a certain volatility the ground beneath her quake with fear. A sob made its way out of her throat and pierced the air as she swung. The sound of shattering glass soon replaced her screams as the bat broke the window of an old car that'd been rusting in solitude for at least five years- Anything to feel alive, she thought to herself as a tear landed on a shard by her feet.

Her hands were balled into fists, and if she was holding on to her own flesh any harder her nails might've pierced the…
